What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Server position at The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska?
To produce personal service of legal process on individuals within the boundaries of the Omaha Tribal Reservation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- To locate parties named in legal process (summons, subpoena, notices, etc.)
- To produce personal service of named individuals in a professional and detached manner.
- To maintain a log of the date and location where service was obtained.
- Make returns of service to the court to document service.
- Testify to service if needed in Court Proceedings.
- To maintain confidentiality about the nature and identify of persons receiving process.
- Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Driver's license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and/or ABILITIES:
- Ability to deal calmly with angry, frustrated and depressed or belligerent people
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision and stay on task
- Must maintain confidentiality of all information.
- Must comply with Drug Free Policy
- Must have no pending criminal matters before this court and not be on probation.
- Must be able to conduct themselves away from the job in such a manner as to comply with Court polices regarding off the job conduct.
