Summary
Omega Food & Beverage is a large full-scale food production department. We produce and serve up to 2500 mostly plant-based meals per day as well as breads and desserts for both the Dining Hall and the Omega Café.
The Dishwasher/Utility Supervisor is responsible for upholding productive, efficient operation of the dishwashing operation, and ensuring the overall maintenance, sanitation, and functionality of the dish room and the kitchen with the support of Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef and Dining Services Manager.
Essential Functions

- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the dish room, including the dishwashing machine, storage and drying racks, and the general infrastructure of the space.
- Ensure proper use of the dishwashing machine, including running dishes, breaking down and cleaning the machine, running de-lime cycles, and maintaining consistency in the overnight breakdown of the machine.
- Monitor the chemical usage and report any inventory concerns to Purchasing Manager.
- Maintain quality control of all dishware cleanliness (kitchen and service dishes).
- Maintain efficient and effective communication with all Food & Beverage management to ensure that department needs are being met.
- Work around knives and hot steam; carrying hot pans.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Assign tasks/stations to the dishwashing team while on shift.
Work Details
- This position functions in Omega’s Kitchen/Dining Hall on the Omega campus.
- This is a full-time position.
- Food & Beverage staff are expected to have availability to work on weekdays and at least one weekend day each week. Schedules may vary based on operational needs, and flexibility is essential to ensure adequate coverage during peak times and events.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently move items that weigh 30-50 pounds for various needs.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Ability to traverse a hilly campus in diverse weather conditions.
- Ability to position self to perform diverse job tasks as necessary.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand, and ability to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Ability to observe details at close range.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness, and in a safe manner.

- At least 1 year supervisory experience.
- Timely, reliable, and service oriented individual.

Compensation
Non-residential seasonal staff work full-time or part-time between early-May through late-October. They receive a compensation package that includes:
- Hourly wage (this varies by position and is at minimum above New York State minimum wage).
