Position Overview:
The Food Runner is critical to the smooth flow of the food out of the kitchen and to the Guests’ table. The Food Runner must have a thorough knowledge of our products as they are the final quality check on the food before it is presented to the Guest. The Food Runner organizes the orders as they are placed on the pass shelf, checks them for quality and accuracy, garnishes the plates with the necessary condiments, and delivers them to the dining room, where the order is served either by the Food Runner or the Server.
Responsibilities:
- Upholds company mission and philosophy.
- Garnishes food as it is placed on the pass shelf and ensures it is complete. Follows standards as outlined in the Food Runner Workbook and the Menu Garnish List.
- Checks that food meets Landmark Restaurants’ standard for presentation and quality. Has a thorough understanding of our products and specifications.
- Serves Guests in a prompt, courteous manner, in accordance with the restaurant’s service standards. Ensures food is served promptly, within timing standards.
- Maintains a clean and stocked station. Performs setup and side work duties in an efficient and accurate manner. Helps to maintain overall cleanliness of restaurant.
- Works as a member of the team to serve Guests. Maintains positive, upbeat, and energetic attitude toward Guests and coworkers. Assists others whenever able.
- Maintains highest standards of hygiene and sanitation. Follows Health Department standards for hygiene and safe food handling. Maintains current Food Handlers Permit.
- Works toward ensuring profitability by controlling waste and ensuring proper portioning of accompaniments and garnishes.

- Stamina; able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for several hours at a time.
