What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Manager position at The Open Door Network?
Fundamental Objective: Under the direct supervision of the Arvin Services Supervisor the DV/SA Case Manager will be stationed at the South Kern Family Justice Center in Lamont, CA and provide vital services that target the underserved populations within Kern County. The DV/SA Case Manager will provide crisis and non-crisis services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or human trafficking.
Minimal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, with (2) year experience in a crisis or non-crisis setting for victims of trauma and/or serving homeless population
- Understanding of the civil and criminal justice systems, especially as related to DV/IPV
- 2 years free of domestic violence
- A valid U.S. driver’s license and vehicle insurance, and at least two year of driving experience in the U.S. (3 years if you’re under 23 years old)
- Must be willing to commute to different areas in Kern County.
- Must have a flexible schedule.
- Bilingual preferred; multilingual a plus
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide walk-in and in-person crisis intervention and peer-counseling to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
- Responsible for managing a caseload up to audit expectations.
- Provide victims services twice a week at minimum at the Kern River Valley Bridge Connection office, located in Lake Isabella. Mileage will be reimbursed.
- Offer safety planning, referrals for counseling, referrals to appropriate social service agencies, and advocacy.
- Accompany domestic violence and sexual assault clients to the hospital for emergency needs.
- Assist with sexual assault accompaniments for medical forensic exams/interviews.
- Respond to accompaniment requests for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in the South Kern area.
- Assist clients in 1:1 preparation of Domestic Violence Temporary Restraining Orders as needed.
- Accompany domestic violence and sexual assault clients to Family Law Court or Criminal Court proceedings as needed.
- Obtain a working knowledge of resources available to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking and refer clients accordingly.
- Provide housing services and linkage to eligible housing programs.
- Perform additional duties assigned by supervising staff.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
