Position Summary: Accountant/Financial Grant Manager:
Responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, including financial grant management, and full cycle accounting, daily bookkeeping to month end closing.
Responsibilities
- Planning and implementing budgets for grants
- Grant tracking and reporting
- Budget preparation
- Monitoring expenditures
- Analyzing financial data
- Maintain general ledger
- Managing accounts payable process
- Managing accounts receivable process
- Maintain payroll and benefits allocations
- Make and record bank deposits
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Add monthly journal entries
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare invoices for grants monthly
- Prepare annual 1099/1096 forms
- Maintain filing system
- Reconcile representative payee accounts as needed
- Add money to participants accounts as needed
- Adhere to federal, state, local, and The Open Door, lnc.'s administrative and
recordkeeping guidelines, including but not limited to 2 CFR 200 and Generally
Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP), to support accurate case notes and
documentation of activities
- Assist in developing, implementing, enforcing and improving existing accounting and
administrative policies and procedures.
- Regular proactive communication with all members of the team regarding needs and
deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of participants, staff, and internal records and affairs of The
Open Door, Inc.
- Participate in team meetings and organizational events as required
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports for the director and/or board of directors
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the mission of The Open Door,
Inc.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration and/or five years’ experience
in non-profit accounting preferred.
- Understanding and demonstrated ability to perform Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles (GAAP) and accrual basis accounting required.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Google Suite, databases, and QuickBooks.
