Optometrist Job Description
We are looking for an Optometrist who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care and is eager to learn and grow within the company. This position is responsible for the management of the patient’s vision care needs. The Optometrist will work with the patient to develop a customized treatment plan that meets their needs and will work with the patient to ensure that the plan is being implemented. The position requires a high level of communication, customer service, and relationship building skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with patients and their families to provide vision care that is personalized, effective, and relevant to each patient’s needs
- Develop treatment plans that meet the needs of the patient
- Coordinate vision testing with other health care professionals including ophthalmologists, neurologists, otolaryngologists, oral surgeons, dermatologists, etc.
- Perform vision screenings for patients in a timely manner while ensuring high quality of care
- Manage all aspects of patient care including scheduling, referrals, billing, insurance verification and coordination, and communication with providers
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as applicable
- Maintain all records and files in a timely manner in accordance with federal regulations and state regulations
- Perform administrative functions such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, faxing/mailing/scanning/copying/ordering supplies and medical records management
Desired Experience and Education
- Optometry License (Required)
- Optometry Certification (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $154,762.00 - $170,000.00 per year
