- The hourly rate for this position is $36.99 - $55.51, depending on qualifications and experience. This role is also eligible to participate in an incentive program. This position supports the Legal Department and manages various legal activities for companies and functions within Opus (“The Company”). Responsibilities include managing corporate governance, litigation, compliance and trademark matters; performing contract administration; assisting with real estate transactions, due diligence matters and closings; coordinating and managing legal matters handled by outside counsel; and participating and leading other projects assigned by the Legal Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Document Management:
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and organizing legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and leases related to real estate and construction development projects.
Contract Support:
- Help with the preparation and management of contracts between developers, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Entity Management:
- Support the maintenance of corporate entity compliance including jurisdictional qualifications to do business and withdrawals.
Coordination:
- Liaise with clients, attorneys, developers, title company and other involved parties to facilitate communication and ensure smooth project progression.
Due Diligence:
- Demonstrate effective teamwork and the establishment of successful interpersonal relationships with co-workers and other disciplines within the company.
- Support due diligence processes for property acquisitions, including reviewing documents, title reports, surveys, and environmental assessments.
Filing and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and organized files for all legal documents, correspondence, and project materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's degree or Paralegal Certificate (preferred), or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Previous experience in real estate, construction law as a paralegal.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting documents and corresponding with clients and colleagues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, DocuSign, and CSC (Legal Entity Management).
- Ability to identify issues and find practical solutions in a fast-paced work environment.
