Barista with Inn Keeping Responsibilities

The Historic Orcas Hotel is accepting applications for a barista to join our team. This is a terrific opportunity to work with a close-knit professional team. We focus on creating a supportive and educational environment and would love to find someone who is interested in expanding their skillset into hotel and kitchen operations. Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
- Take customer orders and accurately input them into the POS system
- Operate coffee brewing equipment, espresso machines, and other beverage equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including restocking supplies as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues or complaints
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines when handling and preparing food items
- Assist with inn keeping and hotel guest service.

Cross training opportunities in kitchen and inn keeping strongly encouraged.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry is preferred
- Strong time management skills to ensure efficient service during busy periods
- Knowledge of POS systems for order processing and cash handling
- Basic understanding of retail math for calculating prices and making change
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact with a diverse range of customers
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $28.00 per hour
