Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing
personal care to residents as required by State Regulations, as outlined in the
resident's plan of care, educational and certified standards and as defined through
Affinity Living Group policy and training.
Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items.
Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
Personal Care and Healthcare:
Assist residents with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting,
incontinence care).
Maintain accurate care records and complete required documentation.
Report changes in resident's condition to the supervisor.
Perform vital sign monitoring as needed.
Apply emergency procedures (accident, disaster, fire safety, elopement).
Adhere to state regulatory policies and procedures.
Perform CPR (certified).
Respect resident confidentiality and preferences.
Assist residents during dining and promote a positive dining experience.
Safety and Sanitation:
Monitor exit doors, call/alarm systems, and fire watch procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of mag-lock code systems.
Answer facility and resident phones professionally.
Adhere to safety and infection control policies.
Respond promptly to emergency call signals.
Report incidents and complete required paperwork.
Report abuse, inappropriate use of property, or neglect to supervisor.
Laundry/Cleaning Functions:
Collect, launder, and distribute linens.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must
be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below
are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
Education/Experience:
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and
memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present
information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and
other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and
percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but
uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a
few concrete variables in standardized situations.
