Summary

The Care Attendant is responsible for performing a variety of non-care tasks essential to the smooth operation of the nursing home. This role includes responsibilities in housekeeping, food service, room preparation, and general support to ensure a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents. The Care attendant works closely with the nursing and care teams to support the overall quality of life for residents, focusing on tasks that do not involve direct care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Teamwork with the following and all other duties and responsibilities assigned.

• Food Service Support : Assist with the delivery and setup of meals for residents, ensuring timely and accurate service according to dietary needs and preferences.
• Housekeeping Duties : Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing common areas, resident rooms, and bathrooms to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Room Preparation : Prepare resident rooms for new occupants by cleaning, sanitizing, and setting up furnishings and supplies as needed. This includes changing bed linens, replenishing toiletries, and ensuring the room is ready for the next resident.
• Linen Delivery and Restocking : Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms and restock linen closets with fresh supplies, ensuring that all areas are well-stocked and organized.
• Trash Removal : Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in designated areas, ensuring that all spaces are free of clutter and hazards.
• General Facility Support : Assist with general maintenance and upkeep tasks as directed, including organizing supplies, restocking items, and reporting any issues or needed repairs.
• Resident Interaction : Engage with residents in a friendly and supportive manner, responding to requests for assistance with non-care needs and ensuring they feel comfortable and attended to.
• Collaboration with Care Teams : Work closely with nursing and care staff to ensure that all non-care tasks are completed efficiently, contributing to the overall well-being of residents.
