We are seeking a full-time Pathology Lab Assistant to join our busy Gastroenterology Clinic in SW Portland. You will work with exceptional physicians who value their team and working together to help our patients get the best possible care.
Our busy practice performs a high volume of procedures daily, and we are searching for a dependable team player who can multitask and provide high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have prior lab assistant experience.
Primary duties include ordering and maintaining supplies, preparing cassettes, loading and unloading specimens, maintaining required equipment and supplies, including stains and chemicals, preparing slides and specimens for transportation to other sites, and ensuring on-site pathologists have daily slides to read.
Workdays will be Monday-Friday (8:00 am-4:30 pm)
Starting pay range, based on experience: $20.97 - $28.37 per hour.
Medical, Vision and Rx Insurance is 100% paid for by The Oregon Clinic for full-time employees.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a lab setting is strongly preferred. Pathology Lab experience is a plus!
- Proficiency in relevant software, including the Microsoft Office suite. Epic/Beaker experience is a plus!
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all information related to patients and medical staff and comply with all applicable safety/OSHA procedures and requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
- Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, staff, and providers.
- Strong commitment to patient care and privacy guidelines.
