We are seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for our Neurosurgery West division located at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center (SW Portland). You will work with exceptional physicians who value their team and working together to help our patients get the best possible care.
As a Neurosurgery MA, you’ll gain valuable expertise and knowledge in anatomy, care, and treatments related to disorders of the brain and spine, plus expertise in coordinating care among specialty services. In this position, approx. Primary duties include rooming patients, vitals, review medications and update them in EMR, manage and respond to patient calls, enter orders, process documents, and perform other tasks as needed.
Successful candidate will be organized, detail oriented, strong at multi-tasking, flexible, and dedicated to high quality patient care. We are searching for a self-starter with a strong work ethic, friendly demeanor, great attitude, ability to learn quickly, with excellent phone and computer skills. Must become credentialed within 90 days of employment.

Starting pay range, based on experience and credentials:
Medical Assistant - (Must be Certified within 90 days)
- Level I - $21.76- $29.45 per hour.
- Level II - $22.97 - $31.08 per hour.
Credentialed Medical Assistant (CMA):
- Level I - $24.18- $32.72 per hour.
- Level II - $26.60 - $35.99 per hour.
- Level III - $29.26 - $39.59 per hour.
Medical, Vision, and Rx Insurance is 100% paid for by The Oregon Clinic for full-time employees.
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistants must be certified within 90 days. New Graduates are Welcome to Apply!
- At least two years of previous experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Certification from a national certifying entity (AAMA, NCCT, AMT, etc).
- Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire. ACLS may be required by specialty.
- Prior EMR and scheduling experience are strongly preferred; EPIC experience is a plus!
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
- Ability to communicate clearly to patients, staff, and physicians.
- Strong commitment to patient care and privacy guidelines.
