The Original Pancake House is looking for an upbeat, driven, professional & team-oriented leader to join our management team who is looking to connect with guests & brighten their day! We are a growing company & are eager to expand our management team in the North Puget Sound Region. The North Puget Sound Region consists of our locations in Bothell, Redmond & Maple Valley. All potential applicants should be available & willing to work weekends. This is a basic requirement of our management team due to the nature of being a breakfast only restaurant. The Original Pancake House operates 363 days a year, closed on Christmas Day & Thanksgiving Day, 7 days a week from 7 AM-3 PM.
Assistant General Managers will work a minimum 30-40 hour work week, depending on time of year & business demands. AGMs are full-time employees with starting pay of $25-30/hour, subject to restaurant location & region. All full-time employees will be eligible for company-sponsored health benefits, a company-matched 401K program, sick time accrual & paid vacation each year.
REQUIRED TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
High school degree is required. College degree is not necessary, but preferred. Minimum of two years of experience in the service industry, preferably a full service restaurant. Must possess basic knowledge of front and back of house management & strong communication skills. Must have the desire to learn how to be proficient in ordering, inventory management, scheduling, employee development, staff training and guest service. Must possess leadership skills that encourage personal and professional development. Responsible for fostering a positive, upbeat workplace culture while upholding company policies and expectations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
At The Original Pancake House, the Assistant General Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the restaurant on the GM’s days off, as well as working in conjunction with the GM on the weekends. The AGM must provide exceptional customer service, cultivate a positive & nurturing work environment, while proactively developing & managing all members of the staff, both front & back of house. The AGM & GM must have a professional, cohesive working relationship to ensure the restaurant runs smoothly & efficiently on a daily basis.
In collaboration with the General Manager & Lead Line Cook, the Assistant General Manager must assist in overall staff hiring, training & development. Assistant General Managers should lead their team by example to uphold company standards & expectations on a daily basis.
ATTENDANCE & PROMPTNESS
As the Assistant General Manager, it is the goal & the expectation that you assume responsibility for the overall performance of your location – at all times, on all days. AGMs are expected to work their assigned 5-day work schedule, as well as any additional time related to the planning & operation of the business (staff meetings, training, scheduling, etc.). A manager is required to be on site at all times during hours of operations when employees are on the premises, must arrive on time & work the entirety of their shift.
