What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at The Original Pancake House?
We are looking for an experienced Line Cook to join our growing team! You will be preparing and cooking a variety of breakfast dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy. We are a breakfast-only restaurant: early mornings required, no evenings.
Early mornings are required (6:30 AM) & weekend availability is expected. The Original Pancake House is open 7 days/week from 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, closed on Thanksgiving & Christmas Day. We offer company health insurance available, 401K, paid sick leave.
Entry level line cooks start at $16.50 per hour. Experienced line cooks can make up to $21 per hour. All BOH employees earn tips. Tips average $1-4 per hour, paid weekly on Friday.

If you are passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences through great, high-quality food, we would love to hear from you! With previous experience as a Line Cook, you can manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere. Ideally, you have your Serve-Safe or Food Handler’s certification.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food handling practices.
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes.
- Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
- Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of previous experience as a restaurant cook required, preferably as a kitchen manager or lead line cook.
- ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification (or must be willing to attain).
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Ability to work standing for 8 hours.
