Osborn Engineering is seeking a Department Manager with 10 years of experience to manage the Detroit Mechanical Engineering group. This position will report to the Director of Mechanical Engineering. Team and client management experience in a consulting engineering environment is preferred.
Position Responsibilities:

Work with Project Managers throughout the company to provide appropriate resources to successfully execute projects.

Establish discipline specific work plans and estimates to complete for department staff assigned projects

Oversee the production of work product consistent with client requirements and Osborn standards.

Supervise efficient execution of projects and staff to meet the performance metrics and goals of the department.

Manage expectations and communications with clients for projects providing engineering and technical support.

Preparation of proposals and administering project contracts, including Add Service Agreements

Execute Osborn’s QA/QC process for the mechanical discipline on projects.

Maintain backlogs and manpower forecasts to ensure proper staffing levels and department utilization.

Perform staff resource management and annual reviews including Timesheet and Expense report approvals.

Assist Human Resources on recruitment and training efforts.

Conducting business development activities, participating in various trade organizations, and preparing or assisting with presentations.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
-
10 Years’ Experience in Mechanical Design in Consulting Engineering.

Excellent Organizational and Communication skills.

Proactive and Collaborative team member.

Ability to work and manage several project teams concurrently.

Ability to promote department and staff career growth.
-
Experience in designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects.

Working knowledge of Revit.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Preferred.

PE License Preferred.

Salary : $85,000 - $125,000
