Position Overview
A Control Room Officer is critical in ensuring the safety, security, and efficiency of operations within an organization. This position involves monitoring and managing the control room systems, responding to incidents, and coordinating with relevant personnel to maintain smooth operations.
The Control Room Officer position is located, and will report daily on-site in the Columbus, Ohio facility.
Duties

Access Control:
- Issue badges for Vendor Visitors.
- Coordinate with Patrol Officers when access to locations is needed.

Monitoring Systems:
- Oversee surveillance systems, alarms, and monitoring equipment to detect and respond to anomalies.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure all systems are functioning effectively.
- Analyze data and reports generated by monitoring equipment.

Incident Response:
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as security breaches, system failures, or safety hazards.
- Communicate and coordinate with field teams and emergency services as required.
- Document incidents accurately, including the time, nature, and response actions taken.

Coordination and Communication:
- Act as the central communication hub during incidents and routine operations.
- Relay critical information to management, security teams, and other departments.
- Maintain logs and reports to track daily activities and incidents.

System Management:
- Operate and maintain control room equipment, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and communication devices.
- Report technical issues to the appropriate department for maintenance or repair.
- Ensure compliance with organizational protocols and procedures.

Security and Safety Compliance:
- Monitor compliance with safety and security standards within the facility.
- Support the implementation of safety drills and training sessions.
- Identify and report vulnerabilities or potential risks in operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be 21 years old and a United States Citizen.
- Must have a current Top Secret security clearance, or current SECRET clearance with eligibility for TS.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to obtain and maintain an armed security guard license and firearm permits as state and local regulations require.
- Must pass all training and obtain required certifications, including CPR and First Aid/AED.
- Technical aptitude with familiarity in operating and troubleshooting control room systems.
- 5 years’ experience in working with law enforcement, fire safety, or emergency services.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to write detailed reports and speak clearly and effectively in English.
- Successfully pass drug and alcohol screening as well as a background check.
Work Environment:
- The Control Room Officer typically operates in a secure, indoor environment with exposure to high-stress situations.
- Requires sitting or standing for extended periods, monitoring multiple screens, and operating communication devices.
- Able to carry and lift 50 lbs.
