Bartender
Job Purpose
Provide timely and excellent beverage service to our guests while fostering a relaxing and fun atmosphere. Assist co-workers in offering the best experiences possible to restaurant guests, supporting the AAA Four Diamond brand expectation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promptly greet guests
- Create bonds with locals and regulars
- Learn the names and personally recognize our regulars
- Complete Steps of Service for Bartenders
- Promote The Osthoff Resort’s service principle by example—respond to/resolve guest inquiries, complaints or concerns in a courteous, timely and efficient manner. Make sure to inform a team leader of any problems.
- Prepare drinks consistent with the restaurant’s standard drink recipes
- Maintain bar in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparations and promotions of beverages
- Be knowledgeable about beverage products to assist guests with choices
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar
- Counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas, and surrounding areas to the bar
- Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager
- Assist in the checklists at the beginning/end of each shift with the team
- Including polishing, cleaning, and prepping
- Restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies
- Complete proper end-of-day reports
- Sales Reports, Financial Reports, Tip Reports
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma
- Must be 18 years of age
- Have Bartending License
- Strong customer/guest service skills
- Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes
- Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money and operate the POS
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Must possess a positive attitude as a contributor to a diverse work environment
- Ability to exhibit a cheerful demeanor towards guests and other team members
- Must have an outgoing, cheerful, and fun personality along with a professional attitude
- Must have the willingness to go above and beyond what is expected to create meaningful guest experiences
- Ability to take care of customers’ needs while following company procedures
- Be able to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Possess great time management skills, with the ability to think on the spot
- Ability to learn quickly and accurately
