Petition Circulators and Team Leaders - Help pass a ballot initiative in FL
Hiring Immediately - $19-27/hr
Full-time & Part-time
Help collect signatures for a ballot initiative which will expand healthcare access to 1.4 million Floridians! Currently, Florida ranks 47th in the nation for healthcare access and affordability, and has one of the highest numbers of uninsured individuals in the country. We’re gathering signatures to place a ballot initiative before voters, allowing them to decide on Medicaid expansion which will bring billions of tax dollars back to Florida, create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and ensure access to essential healthcare for over a million residents. This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in the following areas: Leadership, Communication & Advocacy, Community Outreach & Engagement, Political Organizing, Campaign Work, Public Policy, and Leadership.
Locations: Tampa, North Miami, & Pensacola, FL
Get paid well! Canvass positions start at $19/hour. However, there will be many opportunities for advancement; leadership positions range from $21 - $25/hr, with additional bonus opportunities. We also offer an additional $1/hr for Spanish/English Bilingual staff, in addition to overtime pay, paid training, & sick pay for everyone.
Locations: Tampa & Miami, FL
We are hiring immediately, all positions can through October with possibilities for advancement afterwards. Shifts run from 10:45am - 6:30pm weekdays and weekends with the possibility to work part-time or full-time
Petition Circulator Responsibilities ($19/hr):
- Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner
- Deliver a compelling campaign message
- Collect petition signatures
- Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills
Team Leader Responsibilities ($20-25/hr):
- The Petition Circulator Responsibilities plus:
- Manage a small group of circulators out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day and debriefing with them at the end of the day
- Ensure each circulator has all of the materials they need to be safe and successful
- Assist directors with circulator training and administrative work
The ideal candidate:
- Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy
- Strong communication skills; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone
- Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible
- Open to new challenges and are interested in building their campaign skills
- Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community
- Prior canvassing experience is not required.
