Assistant Resident Care Director
Purpose :
To assist the Director of Resident Care in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the resident care program at The Overlook. This role ensures the highest degree of quality care in compliance with all federal, state, and local standards and guidelines and supports the goals of the community.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
1. Resident Care Management
Supervise care staff and report any issues or concerns to the Director of Resident CarreAssist with maintaining and updating care policies, procedures, and manualsSupport the Director of Resident Care in resident discharge planning and coordinating care services with other resident services2. Team Leadership & Development
Ensure all care associates hold current licenses / certifications and meet acceptable care standards.Assist in implementing training, educational programs and in-service educational activities for care associates.Encourage staff to participate in training programs and leadership development.3. Compliance and Resident Rights
Maintain compliance with Resident Rights, and promptly report and document resident complaints or grievances.Ensure resident care associates are aware of and adhere to each residents care plan.4. Quality & Safety Assurance
Monitor resident care, including treatments and medications, to ensure compliance with care plans.Follow procedures for safety and infection control and report hazardous conditions promptly.5. Communication & Documentation
Provide regular written and / or oral reports to the Director of Resident Care, including incident reports.Ensure communication with home health, hospice, and resident families is clear and consistent.6. Admissions & Training
Greet new admissions and assist in completing admission packets.Conduct day one training for associates and day two training for caregivers and med techs.7. Community Engagement
Assist with front desk duties, answer and return calls as needed.Conduct tours on weekends and collect guest cards.8. Facility Management
Ensure work areas are clean, and care supplies are stocked.Support in executing resident activities and ensure activity plans are covered when not present.Qualifications :
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must read, write, speak and understand English.Previous experience in a supervisory capacity.Computer literate.Patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward the elderly.Previous experience in a healthcare-related community or equivalent, preferably assisted living.Must be knowledgeable of general rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws, regulations and guidelines governing assisted living.Must have upper body strength adequate to bend, lift, shift, move, and / or assist in moving articles of more than twenty-five pounds.Must be able to squat, reach, and stretch without distress. Must be able to tolerate extended periods walking, standing.Job Types : Full-time
