Arlington Properties is seeking a Courtesy Officer to provide a positive and secure environment for our residents. Your presence will help create a welcoming atmosphere, making the community a safe and enjoyable place to live.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Property Walkthroughs: Walk the entire property daily, observing resident and guest activities to maintain a safe and inviting atmosphere.
- Noise Complaint Response: Address noise complaints tactfully and courteously, reporting incidents to the Community Manager as needed.
- Vandalism Monitoring: Report any signs of vandalism to the Community Manager for further action.
- Resident Assistance: Assist residents with lockouts and provide friendly advice and directions when needed.
- Lighting & Safety Checks: Conduct weekly inspections of community lighting, including breezeways, pools, and parking lots, reporting any issues to management.
- Vehicle Monitoring: Inform management of suspected illegal or improperly parked vehicles and request towing when necessary.
- Pool & Fitness Room Monitoring: Lock and unlock pools during operating hours, monitor for unauthorized use, and ensure fitness and laundry rooms are not being misused.
- Law Enforcement Support: Contact local law enforcement when criminal activity is suspected or when situations require official intervention.
What Were Looking For:
- Must be a current or retired law enforcement officer or have a military background.
- Active law enforcement officers may carry a firearm while on duty, though retired officers or military personnel are not authorized to carry firearms on the property.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle situations with tact and professionalism.
- A friendly and approachable demeanor, with a commitment to enhancing the safety and well-being of residents.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Regular and predictable attendance;
- Ability to work cooperatively with supervision, co-workers, residents and guests;
- Ability to follow established policies and directives;
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and must be able to understand and follow all safety rules.
NOT A JOB FUNCTION OF THE COURTESY OFFICER POSITION
Use of firearms or force is outside the line and scope of the job duties of a Courtesy Officer. If a situation occurs at the Community that requires use of firearms or force, and the Courtesy Officer takes action, it is understood and acknowledged that the Courtesy Officer is no longer working as an employee of the Community, but under his/her independent authority as a sworn office of the law, and employed by their local law enforcement entity.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge/Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be a sworn law enforcement officer currently employed by a local law enforcement agency.
Licenses/Certificates:
Valid drivers license along with good driving record with auto insurance required.
PHYSICAL AND VISUAL ACTIVITIES
Ability to interpret, evaluate and communicate detailed written or verbal instructions to others accurately and quickly, including answering phones, attending meetings, written correspondence or other forms of communication. Ability to communicate effectively (expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken or written word). This skill/ability is important in work activities in which workers must impart or receive detailed information through oral or written communication.
