Position Overview
We are seeking an Inventory Project Manager to oversee the management, tracking, and utilization of materials for a large-scale project. This role will focus on inventory control, ensuring materials are accurately accounted for, properly stored, and readily available for station and pod builds. The ideal candidate has a strong background in inventory management, with proven experience in maintaining stock accuracy, implementing inventory best practices, and resolving material availability challenges in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain accurate inventory records for all project materials, ensuring stock accuracy and availability.
- Monitor and manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials onsite.
- Verify bills of materials and ensure materials are allocated correctly to their respective builds.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and compliance with project needs.
- Direct material handlers and ensure efficient movement of materials to workstations.
- Develop and optimize processes for inventory flow to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Collaborate with build supervisors to forecast material needs and proactively address potential gaps.
- Identify and escalate material shortages, propose corrective actions, and implement solutions to avoid production delays.
- Provide regular inventory status updates to the Lead PM, aligning with project schedules and milestones.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of materials throughout the inventory lifecycle.
Qualifications and Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or project management.
- Strong understanding of inventory control systems, material flow processes, and stock management techniques.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with inventory management software or ERP systems is highly preferred.
- Experience in project-based inventory or construction environments is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Equivalent work experience in inventory or project management will also be considered.
