What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fundraising and Events Coordinator position at THE PALACE THEATRE?
Overview: The Palace Theatre is the longest-running arts presenter in Fairfield County, part of Stamford Center for the Arts (SCA), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. The Mission of Stamford Center for the Arts’ Palace Theatre is to Entertain, Educate and Enrich the diverse population of Stamford, and Fairfield County. Our vision is to be the regional arts center for exhilarating performances that enhance the cultural, educational, economic, and social life of our community.
The Development / Fundraising Coordinator position reports to the Director of Philanthropy, & includes high-visibility interactions with executive management. Our ideal candidate is self motivated, poised and confident with a proactive, customer service-focused mindset, discretion, and a sense of humor. You have demonstrated data management & customer service skills, are good at multi-tasking, and pay strong attention to detail. Interest in the arts and/or fundraising is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Manage the Development department database of donations, sponsorships, mailings, and all department correspondence including timely & accurate thank you letters and tax acknowledgements.
- Ongoing reporting of funds received, membership renewals, and event RSVPs
- Acknowledge contributions to donors in a timely fashion
- Prepare and present materials, project updates, and reports to staff, committees, etc.
- Assist members with concierge ticketing services including invoicing and payment processing
- Provide support for the planning and executing of logistics for events - some volunteer management
- Coordinate and execute fundraising appeals
- Maintain all pertinent marketing materials for grants and sponsor presentations
- Ensure accurate fulfillment of sponsor benefits with the Marketing department
- Organize fundraising events, including logistics planning, promotion, execution, and post-event financial reporting.
Experience
- 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Excellent organizational skills; project management software a plus
- Advanced, recent Excel and mail merge; PowerPoint a plus
- Tech savvy; ability to learn new software quickly
- CRM or other data management system experience
- Basic graphic design experience and website experience a plus
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Event logistics and coordination experience, including financial reporting
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
