Creative Director
We are searching for an extraordinary Creative Director—a visionary brand-builder with the passion, expertise, and leadership to shape the future of our family of brands. You will develop emotionally resonant, high-impact brand campaigns that captivate our customers and drive omni-channel growth. As the creative force behind our brands, you’ll lead the evolution of their distinct identities, ensuring every touchpoint - from digital to in-store - tells a cohesive, compelling story. You’ll spearhead multichannel campaigns that ignite excitement, inspire engagement, and position us as a leader in experiential retail and omnichannel marketing. Working cross-functionally with the Buying and Social teams, you’ll infuse trend-driven storytelling into product selections and seasonal marketing moments. You’ll inspire and grow a team of Art Directors, Graphic Designers, Writers, Photographers, and Producers, setting the creative bar and rolling up your sleeves to bring ideas to life.

Key Role Responsibilities:
Brand & Creative Strategy
- Define and evolve distinct identities for both The Paper Store and Uncharted brands, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
- Develop and execute innovative, emotionally compelling large-scale brand campaigns that drive engagement.
- Lead storytelling and brand positioning to strengthen customer connections and market presence.
- Oversee all visual brand assets, ensuring a cohesive and high-quality aesthetic.
- Guide the development of photography, video, and graphic design to elevate brand storytelling.
- Establish and uphold brand guidelines for consistency across all channels.
Multichannel Marketing & Campaign Execution
- Oversee the concept, design, and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, in-store, email, print, and paid media.
- Partner with the Buying team to develop trend-driven seasonal themes that align with product storytelling.
- Ensure all creative assets align with business objectives, customer insights, and brand positioning.
Team & Operational Management
- Lead, inspire, and mentor a developing team.
- Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration to drive best-in-class creative output.
- Manage team structure, resource allocation, and workflow to ensure efficiency and excellence.
- Oversee creative budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
- Implement tools and processes to optimize workflow and execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align creative initiatives with business goals.
Job Requirements.
- Candidates MUST SUBMIT A PORTFOLIO that includes full 360° campaigns, showcasing concept through execution with examples across digital (email, social, paid media), print, and in-store. Please include the role played in each project, and performance insights where available.
- BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent degree or professional work experience.
- 10 years of related work experience at internal or external agencies with at least 5 years working with/managing creative for retail brands.
- A proven track record of managing large teams with an eye towards growth and talent development.
- Exceptional creative skills (well-produced, big idea campaigns), communication and presentation skill.
- Extensive understanding of photography, video, illustration, typography along with broad photoshoot experience and a wide talent network.
- Understanding of store design and visual merchandising.
- Experience hiring and managing internal and external creative, media and PR agencies.
- Proven track record and experience in delivering projects on time and budget with strategic roadmaps and robust communication planning to support execution.
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly moving retail business environment defined by uncertain, incomplete, or limited information and evolving targets. Strong at handling urgencies, constraints and prioritizing deliveries.
- Ability to work in-office at the Corporate HQ in Acton, MA.
- Professional presentation in attire, demeanor, and appearance.
