The primary responsibility of the Human Resources Business Partner – Distribution Center (DC) is partnering with the DC leadership team to deliver a superior employee experience and supportive culture. This position oversees all Human Resources matters related to distribution center associates, including recruiting, training and development, employee relations, labor/staffing management, and performance management.
The Human Resources Business Partner – Distribution Center reports directly to the Director of Field HR and works closely with the Director of Distribution. This position does not have direct reports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be a TPS brand ambassador
- Identify opportunities and partner with the distribution center director to deliver effective solutions in the HR disciplines of employee experience, talent management, performance management, succession planning, change management and effective communication.
- Work seamlessly with the DC Human Resources Coordinator on all HR responsibilities, including providing development opportunities, balancing the workload, and employee engagement/event planning.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Offers guidance to the leadership team to resolve conflicts, problem solve and facilitate complex conversations that lead to acceptable outcomes.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure compliance within the organization
- Ensure all employment practices follow federal, state and local regulations.
- Responsible for all HR administrative duties involving the distribution center, including timecard management, payroll reporting and scheduling.
- Partners with the leadership team to ensure associates receive robust training in new roles and functions, using effective training resources.
- Partners with the leadership team to ensure quality feedback is regularly provided to their associates, including performance evaluations, individual development plans, and quarterly goal-setting.
- Using creativity and initiative, recruits job applicants to meet staffing demands and partners with the DC director to develop and execute a recruiting strategy, with emphasis on high volume recruiting necessary for the DC’s peak season (July-November).
- Builds relationships with staffing agencies that supplement peak season staffing efforts and stays in regular communication with their representatives to apprise them of future staffing needs, provide feedback about their employees, and approve employee timecards.
- Partner with the DC leadership team to promote and support all building safety initiatives.
- Partner with the corporate and field HR teams on various matters, projects, and meetings, including learning and leading different HR processes on a temporary or permanent basis.
- All other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Experience with supporting multiple levels of leadership, from entry-level to executive-level
- Knowledge and skills to successfully use Microsoft applications and teach others to do the same
- Proven ability to create a team environment through positive and compassionate leadership.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness, creativity, and initiative
- Ability to operate strategically, anticipate obstacles and problem solve.
- Comparable experience in rapid-growth, fast paced organizations.
- Ability to adapt to and lead change.
- Working knowledge of Employment Laws including FSLA, FMLA, ADA and COBRA
- Ability to design and implement high-volume recruiting strategies
- Demonstrated success supporting a multi-cultural environment. Fluency in Spanish is a big plus
- Professional presentation in attire, demeanor, and appearance
- This is an on-site position at the distribution center, located in Leominster, MA. There will be occasional travel to the Acton, MA corporate office. Occasional remote work with approval.
