Position Description: The Special Events Sales Manager oversees the selling, marketing, planning and execution of events that elevate The Park's reputation and meet financial and strategic objectives. This role demands a creative, detail-oriented professional with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. Events range from private gatherings to large-scale community initiatives and serve as critical touchpoints to engage guests, enhance visibility, and achieve revenue targets while staying true to The Park's mission.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality and community development, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

As an extension of The Park’s reputation in the community and the golf industry, the ideal candidate must be driven, compassionate, and enthusiastic, and must comprehend the “Why” and mission of The Park and The Path.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Sales and Planning

  • Sales Management: Proactively sell events featuring all Park outlets, finalizing menus, special orders, and secure venue bookings to meet sales targets.
  • Client Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring smooth communication and clarity from the initial inquiry to event execution.
  • Budgeting: Develop and oversee budgets for events to ensure profitability and cost-effectiveness adhering to the desired business best suited for The Park’s vision.
  • Event Design: Plan and coordinate logistics, including food and beverage, audio-visual needs, décor, and entertainment.

Event Execution

  • Onsite & Offsite Management: Supervise setup, execution, and breakdown of all events. Ensure catering and venue standards are met.
  • Staff Training: Train and coordinate event staff and volunteers to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the care of event equipment such as chafing dishes, coolers, and decorative props.

Marketing & Promotions

  • Content Creation: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and strategies to effectively market events, attract attendees, and generate leads.
  • Public Relations: Work with media partners and a PR firm to promote events and enhance The Path’s visibility.
  • Campaigns: Manage email marketing campaigns, sending weekly newsletters with special offers and event announcements.

Community Outreach and Involvement

  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with local businesses, sponsors, and community leaders to foster collaboration and support for events.
  • Representation: Attend community functions and industry events to represent The Park and establish strategic alliances. 

Volunteer Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with various aspects of event planning and execution as necessary.
  • Assign roles and responsibilities to volunteers and ensure proper coordination and communication before, during, and after events.
  • Provide guidance and support to volunteers to ensure a positive and rewarding experience.

Performance Evaluation & Reporting

  • Post-Event Review: Conduct evaluations to measure event success, analyze ROI, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed post-event reports summarizing successes, challenges, and future recommendations.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in special events and golf outing planning and coordination, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse founders.
  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional event experiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Tripleseat event management software/tools.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as required by event schedules.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $60,000 annually.
  • Commission: 2% on all events booked.
  • Work Schedule: Minimum 50 hours per week, including at least one day managing operations on-site.
