Job Summary
The Business Intelligence (BI) Data Analyst collects, analyzes, defines, documents, and categorizes Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics for decision-makers, proposes report / dashboard designs, and implements basic dashboards from existing datasets.
Primary Objectives
- Perform data mining and data analysis on various data sources and define dimensions and KPI definitions and rules.
- Develop understanding of applications of and propose semantic layers to optimize end user reporting creation.
- Document and test delivery of metrics and KPI's using defined Agile processes.
- Assist with development and continuous improvement of BI standards and protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities
Identify semantic layer data definitions, requirements and rules.Develop methodologies and processes for transformation of raw transaction data into a consistent and coherent set of information that is suitable for BI users.Conduct data mining and analysis of existing BI artifacts, relying on SQL and other applicable knowledge, to ensure proper values are derived.Provide root cause variance analysis and continuing improvement of BI artifacts and related drill-down capabilities to support accurate and timely decision making.Develop data solutions and reporting capability by incorporating current and new datasets, tools, and technology.Review and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources.Mock-up and create innovative dashboards, reports, metrics, and logical drill-down structures to provide assistance in demonstrating and improving the value of services.Document data dictionaries and provide training to improve data literacy within the organization.Create test cases with business input and perform QA testing to ensure KPIs and metrics are correctly implemented.Assist in coordinating user acceptance testing of developed reports.Monitor data transformation and accuracy.Contribute to and follow in-house BI standards.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent combination of coursework and experience in directly-related field required.Work Experience
3 years of experience providing data analytics using multiple data sets and sources.2 years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining reports, dashboards and business metrics using standard Business Intelligence tools.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency with current BI tools including, but not limited to, SAP Business Objects, Power Pivot, Power BI or Tableau.Ability to analyze, understand, and adhere to established patterns in existing BI implementations.Knowledge and understanding of Business Intelligence terminology including KPI, Measure, Dimension, Hierarchy, dashboard and data warehouse.General knowledge of databases and proficiency in SQL Queries.Ability to conceptualize and design new reports with close attention to detail.Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate, understand, and interpret data from both internal and client perspective.Ability to recognize and define problems, understand business and system processes, collect data, establish facts, and draw logical conclusions.Ability to communicate with business users and translate data into business language.Competencies

Zone 1 : $100,000 - $130,000
