Our summer day camp is hosted on our 22 acres campus, which is full of wooded trails and includes a beach for swimming on Cedar Lake. This camp serves ages 4-13 and also has a Junior Camp Counselor Program for 14-15 year olds.
Camp Training (required) will be from June 17th to 20th. The camp leadership team will meet before this date to prepare for camp. The waterfront director is part of the camp leadership team. Camp begins on June 23rd and ends on August 15th. Counselors are expected to be available for the entire 8-week term. Working hours are between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM with some before and after care responsibilities. We are unable to provide housing for staff members.
Responsibilities
- Manage all safety and logistics at the waterfront
- Oversee counselors to make sure all areas have proper oversight
- Understand and implement all State of Michigan Camp waterfront rules and regulations
- Mentor and lead the lifeguard team
Requirements
- Must have a lifeguard certification before camp training dates
- Ability to pass a background check
- Experience managing a waterfront or pool
- Physically able to spend all day outside in the sun and walk on uneven terrain
- High level of responsibility and accountability
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Enthusiastic and Positive attitude
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
