Flight Simulator Technician – Dallas, TX
Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Flight Simulator Technician to join our dynamic team in Dallas, Texas. This is a great opportunity to grow with a global leader in aviation training. As a Sim Tech, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our flight training devices are maintained to the highest standards and ready to support our customers' critical training needs.
What You'll Do:
As a Sim Tech, you’ll be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining a wide range of simulator systems—including computers, visuals, and peripheral components. Your goal: ensure all Flight Training Devices (FTDs) are mission-ready. You’ll receive full training on the specific equipment and systems used at the Dallas facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex preventative/corrective maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
- Diagnose and repair simulator sub-systems including electrical, visual, motion, and computing hardware.
- Power-up/power-down simulators and complete pre- and post-flight checks.
- Run and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) tests and visual alignment procedures.
- Use schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to isolate and resolve system issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance actions using our Quality Management System.
- Support simulator sessions and interact professionally with customers to resolve issues promptly.
- Conduct basic computer/network maintenance and assist with software/hardware updates.
- Collaborate on inventory control, refurbishment projects, and equipment upgrades.
- Mentor junior technicians and support ongoing training initiatives.
What We're Looking For:
- Associate degree in electronics, avionics, or a related technical field; or 1–2 years of hands-on simulator maintenance experience.
- 2–3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in avionics, electronics, or computer technology.
- Solid understanding of analog/digital electronics and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience reading schematics and using electronic diagnostic tools.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with different computer operating systems.
- Soldering and circuit repair skills are a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and shifts in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Physically able to bend, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods.
