THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Manager to lead our inside sales team, drive business growth, and expand our presence throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. This is not just a sales position—it is a leadership role with direct impact on the company’s future.
In this key position, you will be responsible for growing sales, growing the team, and ultimately growing the business. You’ll lead a team of 5–6 inside sales representatives—helping them develop professionally, assisting with closing deals, and building a high-performing, growth-minded sales culture.
Seekings candidates with strong leadership and the ability to "hunt" new business, strategic thinker, with the ability to be creative in overall market development.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Team Growth
- Mentor, train, and coach a team of inside sales representatives to consistently exceed sales goals.
- Foster a performance-driven team environment that prioritizes individual development and team success.
- Lead by example—jump in to close deals and support complex customer opportunities.
- Establish and implement structured performance metrics and coaching plans to continually elevate team effectiveness and support long-term team growth.
Business Development & Strategy
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities; strategize to grow market share across key regions.
- Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with customers, distributors, and partners.
- Continuously analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for strategic growth and expansion.
- Collaborate closely with the company management team to shape go-to-market strategies and prioritize growth initiatives.
Customer Engagement
- Conduct site consultations in the greater Chicago area to assess client needs and provide value-added solutions.
- Deliver customized proposals that address client-specific technical and functional requirements.
- Work closely with key accounts and high-value opportunities to deepen partnerships and secure long-term growth.
- Promote a customer-first culture within the sales team to ensure high retention, satisfaction, and referral business.
Sales Operations
- Maintain accurate sales records, CRM data, and pipeline forecasting to inform strategy and drive results.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and production to ensure timely project execution.
- Establish efficient sales processes and reporting frameworks that support scalability and long-term business growth.
- Track and analyze team performance metrics regularly to optimize efficiency and enhance overall sales output.
- Engage regularly with the company management team to review sales performance, refine KPIs, and support data-driven decision-making.
BACKGROUND PROFILE:
- 5–10 years of progressive sales experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, including leadership or management of inside/outside sales teams.
- Proven track record of driving business growth, expanding into new markets, and consistently exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong leadership experience with a focus on developing sales talent, building team culture, and fostering high-performance environments.
- Demonstrated ability to grow and scale sales operations through process improvement, team development, and market strategy.
- Experience collaborating with company leadership to align sales initiatives with organizational goals and support cross-functional growth strategies.
- Strategic thinker and problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and rapport quickly with both customers and internal teams.
- Strong technical aptitude, mathematical skills, and ability to interpret product specifications and customer needs.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be strongly considered.
- Reliable transportation required for occasional local travel to customer sites.
