Position : Behavioral Health - RN
Position Summary :
Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facilitypolicies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership andsupport to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care willprovide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellencestandards at all times.
Job DutiesResponsibilities :
1. Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of careutilizing the nursing process, clinical skills, and patient education. 2. Maintains professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts,utilizing appropriate resources, as needed. 3. Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, families,visitors, and employees. 4. Assess risks to patient safety and implement the appropriate precautions. 5. Complies with appropriate and approved standards, as outlined by theorganization and accrediting agencies. 6. Complies with safety and injury prevention standards to minimize risk toself, co-workers, patients, and visitors. The concepts of the patient centeredcare delivery model will provide the foundation for all nursing care.

Qualifications
Requirements :
1. Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program 2. Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s). 3. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire orwithin 30 days of start date and maintain certification throughout employment.This must be obtained prior to providing patient care. 4. Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in the Stateof Texas. 5. De-escalation training within 90 days of hire; does not requiremaintaining. 6. Ongoing compliance with demonstration of clinically pertinent competenciesas determined by the facility.
Physical and Sensory Requirements :
1. Ability to read and write in English 2. Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, supportagencies, vendors, and others. 3. Ability to remain calm during stressful situations 4. Ability to respond to pages 5. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independentdecisions. 6. Ability to repeatedly twist, squat and stoop. 7. Bending, lifting (minimum of 25 pounds), grasping, fine hand coordination,pushing, and pulling. 8. Exposure to infectious organisms, agents, and toxic chemicals 9. On call shift coverage as required by department
