About the Job:
The Court Liaison provides coordination of clinically indicated services to individuals and the courts, for patients receiving court ordered services. Covers Court/Hearing procedures.Roles and Responsibilities:
- Drafts and submits petitions, notices, affidavits/certificates of service and denial rights motions with the court on behalf of the patient and the facility.
- Provides all relevant information from the court hearing to the appropriate department at the facility.
- Compiles, maintains and tracks the mental health court appearances and evaluation appointments for all patients admitted to the facility on an involuntary basis.
- Communicates effectively with court clerks, court-appointed doctors, public defenders and various court personnel in order to coordinate and deliver correct patient information for hearings and evaluations.
- Assembles chart materials for mental health court evaluations and hearings to provide evidence for each patient’s hold.
- Communicates patient court progression with appropriate departments at the facility.
- Ensures accurate and timely documentation of relevant activities.
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or other health field preferred.
- Two or more years of related experience in psychiatric/addiction treatment facility required.
