Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing costs, preparing financial reports, and assisting in budgeting processes. This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure accurate financial planning and reporting.
Duties
- Develop and maintain standard costs for all product lines, including annual updates and periodic adjustments as necessary
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular variance analysis reports for management
- Administer plant and warehouse cycle counting program
- Support ERP system implementations, including testing, validation, and troubleshooting, to ensure data accuracy and integration with costing processes
- Partner with operations team to monitor and control cost performance across production and operational activities
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes
- Conduct ad-hoc cost analysis and modeling to support business initiatives and financial decision-making
- Identify and drive improvements in accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5 years of experience in cost accounting, with a strong focus on standard costing in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle but Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus) and involvement in system implementations, including testing phases
- Advanced knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to communicate complex costing concepts to non-financial stakeholders
