The Peddie School seeks a full-time Chemistry educator to join our highly collaborative, strong, and supportive science department. The Department offers courses in robotics and engineering, astronomy and geology, and animal evolution; honors level chemistry, biology, physics and anatomy; and advanced placement courses in biology, chemistry, environmental science, physics and psychology. Peddie's Signature Experience in Advanced Research Science (EXP) allows students to dive deeply into a particular area of science and find out what it really means to become an expert in a field of study through college and university summer laboratory work. This position begins in August 2025.
Candidates should have significant undergraduate and graduate study. Successful candidates will have experience working with young people and possess excellent writing, time management, and interpersonal skills. This position requires additional residential responsibilities, including dorm supervision and coaching.

The Peddie School is a complex residential school community, and it takes the proverbial village to educate our students. Most teaching faculty positions include classroom teaching, residential responsibilities, and arts, athletic, or significant co-curricular responsibilities. While it is impossible to capture all faculty responsibilities, the list below provides information regarding the general job description for teaching faculty.

Teaching Faculty responsibilities include the following:
· Overtly support and act in accordance with Peddie’s Mission and Core Values.
· Recognize that teaching happens everywhere in our community—classrooms, fields, stages, dorms, dining hall, Chapel, etc.—and use those teaching opportunities to help our students develop the intellectual, interpersonal, and ethical qualities that will benefit them as adults.
· Teach 3 to 4 classes each trimester, coach, supervise, advise and/or direct co- curricular activities, and contribute to the residential program.
· Demonstrate thoughtful planning and preparation for classes.
· Demonstrate enthusiasm for and curiosity about teaching in all areas of school life and show respect for individuals and for the community.
· Create a safe and nurturing environment for all members of the Peddie community.
· Serve as role models for Peddie students and help them aspire to the highest qualities of citizenship.
· Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues appropriately in the role of classroom teachers, advisors, dorm faculty, coaches, etc.
· Uphold professional standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy, and discretion.
· Comply with the policies and procedures as articulated in the Employee Handbook.

Peddie meets for Saturday classes every other Saturday. In addition, coaching responsibilities and dorm responsibilities include scheduled Saturday and Sunday duties.
