What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welcome Desk Associate position at The Pediatric Group LLP?
The scheduled shifts are 4 days per week, up to 10 hours per day ( 7am to 5pm). No nights or weekends. Hourly rate is based upon Front Desk Medical Office experience.

SUMMARY: Welcome Desk Representatives are responsible for providing outstanding customer service by greeting patients promptly, orienting them to their visit and ensuring that all information necessary for the visit and billing process is complete and accurate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time):
· Greet patients promptly and professionally
· Ensure patients are given the appropriate paperwork/tablet and direction to complete it when checking in
· Assist the clinical staff in maintaining efficient Care Center flow by directing patients to assigned rooms.
· Notify the Practice Administrator of schedule delays
· Alert medical staff of urgent illness by use of the computer diagnosis monitor. Determine patient’s immediate needs and direct them to clinical staff according to protocols
· Review charts for accuracy and completeness at patient checkout and report discrepancies to the Practice Administrator
· Complete close out summary and fax to appropriate office
· Review the welcome desk communication book regularly for policy changes and other information.
· Complete daily deposit
· Interpret and support corporate goals
· Develop 30/60/90 day plans and reset every quarter.
· Attend all department, management, special project meetings and training.
· Scan medical records and any other required documentation to be scanned into appropriate database
QUALIFICATIONS – (Education and/or Experience): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
· Minimum 1 year experience in customer service required in an office setting; medical office experience preferred
· Communication skills: excellent interpersonal skills, ability to read, analyze and interpret documents; ability to respond effectively to all inquiries; ability to write using proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling; ability to present information
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work within a fast-paced environment
· Computer Skills: Proficient in Windows applications; ability to use Excel; word processing; spreadsheets, e-mail and Internet
· Ability to deal with confidential information appropriately
· Relies on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
· Ability to work independently on projects and as a member of a team
· Ability to multi-task and organize and prioritize workload
· Works well under general supervision
