What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder B position at THE PEGGS COMPANY, INC?
REQUIREMENT OF 6 MONTHS EXPERIENCE. Under the direction of the Welding Foreman, performs General MIG and Tig Welding as Needed. Working knowledge of hand tools, Drill Press, Grinders, Tape Measures & Sanders. Some flipping and handling of metal shopping carts throughout the day also required.
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
PRODUCTION
- Experience in Welding, Min of 6 months welding experience: Certifications are a plus but not required.
- Use of hand tools in a safe and proper manner
- Use of power tools in a safe and proper manner (After Training)
- Completes job assignments in a timely manner
- Metal Fabrication and Metal Manufacturing knowledge a plus
MAINTENANCE
- General housekeeping in area of work. (Clean up work area after each job)
- Responsible to report any equipment that is not working properly to foreman in charge.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Skilled in reading, writing and arithmetic in English or Spanish.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to understand & carry out oral and/or written instructions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
PLANT ENVIRONMENT:
- Single story insulated metal building with 27’ ceiling.
- Temperatures ranging form 60 – 90 degrees, no heating or air conditioning.
- Florescent lighting, and sky lights, low noise level, exposure to welding flash.
