SUMMARY
The Bell Person, meets and greets guests when they arrive and depart and assists guests in transporting luggage and other items to and from guest rooms. This position coordinates guests? needs, requests, and inquiries to ensure superior service and value for all guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service
- Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation.
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests? needs.
- Committed to making sure every guest is satisfied.
- Meets or exceeds guest satisfaction measures.
- Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service.
- Implements and practices guest service initiatives and performs to Hotel Standards.
Bell person Operations
- Attendants carry luggage for hotel guests.
- Escort incoming guests to their rooms
- Greet guests in the public area, offer assistance, and interact with them.
- Offer information regarding features of rooms, services of hotel and points of interest.
- Assist guests with special needs.
- Deliver items and messages for guests.
- Handle guest requests.
- Coordinate guest transportation and ensure that taxis are offering high standards of service.
- Be aware of daily events and locations and communicate those details with guests.
- Maintain luggage storage areas.
- Occasional cleaning and maintenance of common areas.
- Provide area maps, brochures, and other literature.
- Provide information on facilities, services, events and attractions, tours, travel routes and transportation schedules.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
- Always comply with the standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Other duties as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent, plus relevant experience in customer service.
LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests, and supervisors for optimum operation of the property.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense of understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
