JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania State University, Lehigh Valley campus, invites applications for adjunct positions in the Criminal Justice degree program, to begin August 2023. Classes will be taught IN PERSON at the Lehigh Valley campus. This adjunct opportunity has the potential for renewal, as needed.
Candidates should have expertise in either courts/the legal system, law enforcement, and/or the juvenile justice system. Potential courses include American Policing, Courts and the Prosecution Process, Terrorism, and Juvenile Justice System, in the U.S. context.
It is preferred that candidates have both practical work experience in their field and relevant teaching experience. Adjunct faculty are expected to teach specified course(s) as assigned; prepare course materials; and provide support and guidance to students. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with diverse student populations and demonstrate an interest in facilitating student mentoring.
Requirements:
- This position requires the successful completion of standard background checks in accordance with University policies.
- Candidates must have a minimum of an earned master's degree in criminal justice or criminology (or a closely related field) or equivalent to a Master's degree.
