JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The research technician for the Brown Laboratory will conduct dissections of North American bat species and collection of tissues for a biobank.These bats will include multiple species and will be from multiple states, but all will have tested negative for rabies virus by the state laboratory from which they came.The dissections will be performed in a biosafety cabinet and under the supervision of a veterinarian. During dissection, the technician will identify various tissues and collect small sections for the biobank.The technician must have good attention to detail and an understanding of basic laboratory techniques.
Requirements: Applicants must have basic understanding of comparative anatomy and must be up to date on their rabies vaccination.
