About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Patent Agent with a Ph.D. in the biological sciences to join our Intellectual Property client in the Boston office. In this role, you will focus on patent prosecution within the biotechnology sector. Key Responsibilities
- Manage patent portfolios and coordinate prosecution efforts with foreign associates across various jurisdictions.
- Draft office action responses and prosecute patent applications.
- Collaborate with scientists and inventors to draft patent applications.
- Assess scientific literature, patents, and patent application documents in various biology-related fields.
- Conduct patent-landscape and freedom-to-operate searches and assist with the analysis.
- Support IP diligence for biotech investments, including initial public offerings (IPOs) and other capital markets transactions.
- USPTO admission required.
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- 2 years of patent prosecution experience preferred.
- Experience drafting patent applications from invention disclosure forms and/or inventor interviews with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to both scientists and non-scientists.
