About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to join our team at The People Placers. As a key member of our leadership team, you will provide strategic legal guidance to support business objectives and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Advise executive leadership and operational teams on all legal matters, including compliance, litigation, risk management, and contracts
- Develop and implement legal strategies to support business objectives while minimizing legal risks
- Manage external counsel and ensure effective case strategy and cost-efficient outcomes when outside representation is required
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement policies to ensure organizational adherence
- Identify potential legal risks and proactively implement strategies to mitigate them
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of legal experience, with at least 3-5 years in the nursing home, rehabilitation, or healthcare sector
- Proven courtroom experience, including handling litigation, administrative hearings, and settlement negotiations
- Strong knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including those governing nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal professionals
- Familiarity with risk management tools and software
- Experience working in multi-facility organizations or with corporate healthcare systems
