Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to join our team as an After-School Program and Day Care Soccer Coach. This role involves leading small group sessions, organizing activities, and providing mentorship and supervision to children within our after-school program and day care centers.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and implement engaging and age-appropriate soccer and mindfulness activities for children in small group settings.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that encourages learning and social interaction.
- Supervise and guide children during after-school hours, at camps, and weekend sessions, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Design and execute recreational activities, mindfulness, and physical exercises to promote holistic development.
- Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a structured schedule and ensure smooth operation of the program.
- Communicate effectively with parents both written and voice, providing updates on children's progress and addressing any concerns or queries.
- Maintain a clean and organized space conducive to learning and training.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a sport or childcare setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage children and build positive relationships.
- Knowledge of child development principles and the ability to tailor soccer and mindfulness activities to different age groups and skill levels.
- Knowledge of soccer and how to implement training sessions.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage a group of children effectively.
- CPR and first aid certification may be required (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Schedule:
- This is a part-time position with afternoon and early evening hours, typically Monday through Friday 1:45-5:45pm.
- Holiday camps are in the morning from 7:30-12
- Minis (ages 2-5) are Saturday mornings 8:30-12
