What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Representative/Teller position at The Peoples Bank?
We are seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative/Teller to assist with the daily retail operations and activities at our Marion Sales Center.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Welcomes and serves customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Performs various paying and receiving functions including checks, deposits, withdrawals, loan and credit card payments, cash advances, and cashier's checks.
- Assists with processing mail and night depository deposits.
- Balances cash drawer daily within specified guidelines.
- Assists with the opening and closing of the branch.
- Assists customers with account inquiries and requests.
- Answers incoming phone calls and responds to customer inquiries.
- Exercises discretion when dealing with confidential information.
- Interviews customers who would like to start checking or savings accounts.
- Ensures the customer understands the various account types, products, services, and programs.
- Relieves or assists other new account staff as needed.
- Identifies opportunities and actively refers customers to appropriate staff.
- Performs such duties as may be required from time to time for the overall management of the Bank.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provides basic customer services including stop payments, check orders, etc.
- Orders debit cards and assists with debit card issues.
- Performs account maintenance.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Up to 6 months similar or related experience including customer service and cash handling experience.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
- Basic clerical skills and knowledge of general office equipment.
- Ability to work various schedules and on Saturdays as needed.
- Ability to travel to other branches as needed.
