Job Description Summary :
The Peralta Community College District invites applications for our Temporary, Part-Time Faculty pool in the following discipline :
JOURNALISM
Duties & Responsibilities :
Minimum Qualifications :
- Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Journalism or Journalism with a specialization in Journalism;
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in any of the above;
- A Master’s Degree in English, history, communication, literature, composition, comparative literature, social science, business, business administration, marketing, graphics or photography;
- May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in Journalism. (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).
- The equivalent qualifications. (Candidates who claim equivalency must provide conclusive evidence, as clear and reliable on the college transcripts as required on the District Equivalency Application Form. This is not a process to waive the minimum qualifications.)
- Applicant must have demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college staff, faculty, and students.
