What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internship - SCADA Systems Engineer position at The Perryman Company?
The Perryman Company is looking for enthusiastic, motivated summer interns to join our team!
This intern will work with our Electrical Engineering and IT teams to install, manage and maintain plant floor data collection and analysis hardware and software systems. Work with our IT department to establish new network connections to production process equipment and various process measurement devices. Learn to design, configure, and maintain Historian servers. Establish and maintain new and existing VM’s distributed throughout the facility.
Key Accountabilities:
- Working with Engineering and IT, establish new network connections. Cabled and Wi-Fi to production equipment.
- Install, configure, and maintain VM server’s hardware and software, (Stratus Servers, VMware).
- Install, configure, and manage data collection systems for production equipment including PLC’s, HMIs, and process measurement systems, (Iba systems, Rockwell Historian).
- Manage system software licensing and support contracts.
- Install, configure, and manage Alarm Notification Servers, (TopView).
- Maintain and update network diagrams and documentation.
- Setup and configure historian report generators and portals for end-user.
- Data archive management.
- Collaborate with division managers in reviewing data to identify and assess equipment needs and/or efficiencies.
Requirements:
- Actively working towards Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Automation and Controls Engineering or related fields.
- Ability to work under supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects.
