What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician - Coil Facility position at The Perryman Company?
The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot causes of unexpected breakdowns on equipment and will complete preventative, regular or emergency maintenance on the production machinery.
Key Result Accountabilities
- Troubleshoots and services mechanical equipment such as electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearing set up, bearing set up, heat exchanges, pumps; Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
- Thoroughly cleans machine parts, removes parts and reinstalls as necessary.
- Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Orders and maintains a stock of replacement parts for machines while also planning ahead for future needs.
- Machines parts with lathes and mills, when necessary.
- Completes documentation on work performed.
- Must be able to traverse equipment to diagnose issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
- Coordinates with managers to schedule preventative, regular or emergency maintenance on machines.
- Collaborates with department manager or engineers regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
- Maintains good relationships with vendors.
- Responds promptly to facility needs; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments.
- Adheres to safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions ; uses equipment and materials properly; keeps workspace clean and organized.
- Completes all other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Technical degree in electrical, carpentry, welding, or other maintenance field, preferred.
- Two to three years of maintenance or rigging experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two to three years of welding experience preferred.
- Must be able to read print drawings. CAD experience is preferred.
- Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
- Works well independently and with others.
- Excellent communication skills with internal team members and vendors.
- Organized with strong attention to detail.
- Must have good computers skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high demand environment.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Must be able to climb ladders, stoop, kneel and crawl for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
