Dog Groomer

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong background in pet care, ensuring that all pets receive the highest level of grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing grooming services to a variety of pets, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. Your expertise in animal handling and grooming techniques will be essential in creating a positive experience for both pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

• Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling pets according to breed standards or client preferences.
• Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
• Handle animals safely and compassionately during grooming sessions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs, behavior, and any health concerns observed during grooming.
• Provide additional services such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing as needed.
• Stay updated on the latest grooming trends, techniques, and products to enhance service quality.
• Collaborate with veterinary staff when necessary to address any health issues or concerns.

Requirements

• Proven experience in pet grooming or related fields such as veterinary assistance or animal care is preferred.
• Strong skills in animal handling with an understanding of various breeds and their specific grooming needs.
• Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus.
• Familiarity with equine care is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
• A compassionate attitude towards animals and a commitment to their well-being.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Certification in pet grooming or related fields is an advantage but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
