Looking to add an additional experienced dog groomer or a groomer that is willing to learn to our existing grooming staff. The right candidate would be someone that is caring, patient, and loves working with animals and clients. Someone that is a team player and willing to take the initiative to help with additional duties within the grooming salon such as cleaning and cross promoting retail supplies. Willing to keep up with the grooming market by being open to changes and educational growth. Must have you own grooming tools or the willingness to acquire. Our Salon is fully equipped with new equipment, premium grooming supplies, and the space to pamper our clients. Responsibilities for Dog Groomer
- Trimming pets’ nails, brushing/cleaning teeth, and cleaning ears
- Maintain an upbeat attitude
- Calm an anxious dog. Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process.
- Ensure company policies are being followed
- Communicate effectively with clients to find out what they need.
- Identifying health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, and informing pet owners of these observations.
- Grooming and styling cats and dogs according to pet owners’ instructions or standard grooming styles
- Accommodating special requests that pet owners may have
- Bathing, conditioning, and drying dogs and cats
- Dematting and detangling hair as required
- Create a welcoming environment for dogs and their owners
- Routinely cleaning work areas
- Recommending suitable products to pet owners
Qualifications for Dog Groomer
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to work with other groomers. Ability to work on a team.
- Ability to lift dogs that weigh up to 50 pounds. With the ability to lift heavy pets and equipment.
- The ability to stand for long periods of time
- Proven professional grooming experience
- Calming presence to sooth dogs
- The ability to treat all animals with compassion
- Sound understanding of animal behaviors
- Ability to pass a background check
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
