What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Legal Counsel position at The PeterSan Group and PeterSan Legal Staffing?
Our client, a global shipping company, is looking to hire an Associate Legal Counsel to handle commercial and corporate governance matters. Reporting to the General Counsel for the Latin American & Caribbean region, the lawyer in this role will handle drafting, negotiating and amending commercial contracts and agreements; corporate governance including subsidiary management; special projects; oversee local outside counsel; and assist the GC with special projects such as litigation and competition as well as management meetings.
The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of corporate and commercial legal experience; is bilingual in Spanish and English; and is admitted to practice law in the US and a Latin American country (or is familiar with the legal system of a Latin American country). Experience with procurement is a plus. Experience in the transportation / shipping industry is a plus. Company policy is 4 days a week in office but there is some flexibility.
