Position Summary:We are seeking a skilled and proactive Electrical Service Manager to lead our service department. This individual will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing technicians, maintaining high safety and quality standards, and supporting the growth of the department to achieve annual revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all service department work using the NextService Work Order system.
- Control labor and material costs while maintaining service quality and efficiency.
- Assign daily tasks to technicians promptly and ensure accurate and timely billing completion.
- Provide senior-level technical support to help expand the department’s capabilities and offerings.
- Hire and onboard staff to support the department’s growth toward an annual revenue base of $1,000,000.
- Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to departmental planning.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices in all service tasks and projects.
- Execute electrical plans including lighting, power distribution, intercom, fire alarms, and more.
- Troubleshoot and repair or replace faulty wiring, devices, or systems effectively.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of service department tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and insurability through the company’s insurance carrier.
- Foster positive, professional relationships with team members, clients, and vendors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support service operations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of electrical systems, components, and troubleshooting.
- Leadership Ability: Proven experience in managing teams and coordinating field operations.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of diagnosing and resolving complex electrical issues efficiently.
- Blueprint Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret technical electrical drawings and schematics.
- Safety-Oriented: Knowledge of and commitment to electrical safety standards and regulations.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Code Knowledge: Familiarity with NEC and other relevant electrical codes and industry standards.
