A top global law firm in Midtown NYC is seeking a Business Development Specialist to join their well-established & growing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist partners in creating targeted presentations (such as pitch books, RFP responses, and deal sheets) that effectively showcase the Firm's relevant experience and demonstrate why the Firm should be selected.
- Support submissions for league tables, directories, guides, and other industry surveys.
- Coordinate competitive intelligence research to keep lawyers informed on market trends.
- Monitor Firm news, track wins, and update the practice experience database in the CRM system.
- Handle production tasks (editing, fact-checking, proofreading, assembling) to ensure materials are accurate and delivered on time.
- Manage content for internal and external marketing conferences and events, collaborating with the Events department.
- Keep a detailed record of all pitches, meetings, and outreach efforts in the Firm’s CRM (Client Relationship Management) system.
- Update lawyer biographies across multiple platforms (print and digital).
- Work closely with global staff to ensure marketing materials are current on a global level.
- Collaborate with Communications and Digital Marketing teams to enhance the practice’s visibility, including internal and external communications, website content, social media, and lawyer profiles on the external website.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to manage time-sensitive requests from multiple lawyers across various time zones while delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, grammar, and research abilities (writing and editing test required).
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with transactional terminology and processes, along with a basic understanding of litigation terminology.
- Proficient in standard software applications such as Excel, Dynamics, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; experience with online and new media resources is a plus.
- Knowledge of CRM systems is also beneficial. Additional training on core software programs may be provided by the Firm to improve skills and efficiency.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 3 to 5 years of experience working in a law firm, financial institution, or other professional services firm.
- Experience in communicating effectively with Partners or Executives.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; a JD or Master’s degree is preferred.
